Get lost in Jambi City. (Don’t ask me the street names)

If you have a plan to come to Jambi City and look for a certain address in Jambi city by asking the local people, I suggest you to have an extra information about the address. I do not know how and why it starts, but the fact is that local people of Jambi city are generally not familiar with the names of the streets in this city. Streets in Jambi city are actually named. There are many names derived from the names of the Indonesia national heroes or Jambi heroes for instance. Those street names are planked and visible in each street.  But again, I do not know why the locals are not familiar with them . In formal correspondence of the post or expedition company, street names are definitely used, so postmen can be the best to ask.

Instead, Jambi local people are more familiar with the popular names or the district names used for years. Gajah Mada street for example, it is widely known as Jelutung area, Abundjani street which is called Sipin, or Sudirman street which is called The Hok. One suggestion for you is that you should know the popular name/ district area used in the address you are looking for.  By doing this way, you can narrow down the area you are searching for. The second suggestion is, ask the addressee to inform you the nearest iconic or building or place well known by the locals.. The iconic buildings can be the names of restaurants, hotels, schools, hotels, malls, and even the name of small local business shops. Welcome to Jambi city!
