1471375_10201480309545629_1019750012_nWhat fun things do you expect beside having good food and drink for your breakfast? One of them might be a good talk. Many people use the breakfast time to1514624_10201480317305823_824955507_n have a simple chat with others just to say hi or even to discuss about many serious things. In Indonesia breakfast moment is usually used as the chance to discuss things with familiy members, friends, or business partners. Lately this habit may not be as common as before because people are busy with their own activities, they mostly rush to go to their working or studying place.

In the heart of Jambi, there is one interesting  spot hidden behind old buildings in Jambi central market area. 1515002_10201480323585980_163855850_nThese old bulidings were built more than 50 years ago. It is right beside a movie theatre called ‘RIA’ which  is not functioned anymore. Each coffee shop offers its own typical menu. You will find nasi gemuk, rice cooked with coconut milk and served with fried chicken, traditional chili sauce, and chips. The legendary gado-gado, vegetables served with sweet peanut sauce can also be found here. We can also enjoy other traditional kinds of food like soto, rice porridge, and varieties of menus with noodles as the main ingredients. Hot tea, tea mixed with milk and raw eggs, and black coffee will accompany the delicious meal. 1489253_10201480251504178_825868755_n601208_10201480296305298_1911212595_n

Usually, before visiting this place, people make appointments with their colleagues so they can meet up and spend sometimes together before they start their own activities. Another interesting thing in this spot is that we will see older people coming and enjoying their breakfast with their friends sharing the beautiful memories in the past.  So, If you want to have good breakfast and enjoy the nostalgia of Jambi in the past, come to this place.
